CBD isolate vs full spectrum

Cannabidiol (CBD) has become a very popular alternative to treat, cure or prevent conditions like epilepsy, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, etc. Due to its non-psychoactive properties, the number of users is rapidly increasing. An increasing number of users also brings a lot of doubts about which product to choose. In this article, you’ll find out all about CBD Isolate. In addition, there is also a comparison between CBD Isolate vs Full Spectrum CBD products.

To the basics: What is CBD?

Cannabidiol or CBD is only one of at least 140 phytocannabinoids that were found in cannabis plants until today. In larger doses, CBD can even counteract THC’s psychoactive properties, but it is mostly recognised for its beneficial effects and healing properties.

What is CBD Isolate and how it’s made?

CBD Isolate is the purest form of naturally occurring CBD, containing it up to 99,9%. This pure Isolate is often referred to as CBD Crystals because it comes in the solid, diamond-like form. Those diamonds or CBD Crystals are then carefully crushed and ground into fine powder for easier consumption.

Like other CBD products (CBD Oil, CBD Extracts, CBD Vape oil, etc.), CBD crystal Isolate is made from carefully filtered hemp plant extract that is obtained with supercritical CO2 extraction method, just as above-mentioned products. This allows us to produce the cleanest and purest product available on the market.

Even though, that this extraction process is believed to be the highest quality extraction method, it is always possible for CBD Isolate to contain trace amounts of other cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids.

CBD Isolate VS Full Spectrum CBD

There are two main forms of CBD on the market – Full Spectrum CBD and CBD Isolate. When referring to CBD as full spectrum, people usually have CBD Oil in their minds, which contains other cannabinoids besides CBD. Because THC content cannot exceed 0,2% in most countries, we can mostly find Full Spectrum CBD Oils with low THC and high CBD content, including flavonoids, terpenes and other cannabinoids like CBN, CBDV, THCV, CBG, CBC, THCA, CBDA. Although their content is significantly lower than CBD, they play a crucial role in achieving the entourage effect (cannabinoids “working” in synergy). Because THC content is so low, there is almost no possibility that you would feel any psychotropic effects that THC is famous for.

CBD Isolate, on the other hand, shouldn’t contain any other cannabinoids, flavonoids and terpenes (although terpenes are sometimes added to CBD Isolates). We can say that CBD Crystals are just purified CBD that has been extracted from industrial hemp and isolated from other cannabinoids. The main reason that people tend to choose CBD Isolate over Full Spectrum CBD Oil is mainly because CBD doesn’t cause the infamous high and has numerous benefits for our well-being and scientifically proven possibilities to treat or prevent different problems and diseases.

How to use CBD Isolate?

CBD Isolate comes in crystal or powder form. This brings up questions like: Can I eat CBD Isolate? Should I put it into water or coffee? Can I also vape it? How much CBD Isolate should I take? Here are all the answers about CBD Isolate that you need to know.

The most efficient method of CBD administration is vaping. There are numerous CBD vape juices (or CBD e-liquids if you’d rather call them like that) on the market. Most of them contain only CBD Isolate diluted into PG/VG base. This kind of vape juices can also be made at home, all that you need is the PG/VG base with appropriate ratio and CBD Isolate.

First, put PG/VG base into container (usually a dropper bottle) and put the desired amount of CBD Crystals in it. Close the bottle, shake well and wait some time for Crystals to dilute. If necessary, shake again. Usually, users add some terpenes for flavouring, but as we said before, there are also CBD Isolates on the market that already have terpenes added. Some users recommend not to prepare more than 5% CBD e-liquid because it isn’t pleasant inhaling it.

CBD like other cannabinoids binds to fat. This property doesn’t make CBD Isolate appropriate for mixing in water or other non-fat drinks. You can still put it into the water, but it won’t dilute and when you’ll drink it, some crystals might stay in the glass/cup. If you intend to drink CBD Isolate, it is recommended that you put them into drinks with added milk, butter or other fats.

CBD Isolate can also be eaten by its own or mixed into different foods. When eating CBD Isolate it is recommended to put it under the tongue (sublingual use) for the most efficient absorption.

If you intend to use CBD for specific problems or illnesses, it is best if you consult with your personal doctor. You can also find some studies and researches published on the internet, where you can find exact doses used for the treatment of different conditions.

Otherwise, it is always recommended to start with small doses, that you gradually increase every few days or every week, until you find your optimal dose. This is important because every person is unique and have differently developed Endocannabinoid systems.

Although that almost every study, research and clinical trial confirmed that full spectrum CBD products offer a wider range of benefits, people still tend to choose CBD Isolate over full spectrum. Some people still believe that THC has no medicinal value and that it produces only psychoactive effects, thus avoiding it. CBD Isolate can offer us one thing that full spectrum can’t – THC free product. Many people still have doubts over THC but in such low quantity, it is almost impossible to produce the “high”. Others prefer to play it safe because if even traces of THC are found in CBD products, there is always a risk to fail the drug test.

Highly sensitive people might get anxious or paranoid if they consume even the tiniest amount of THC. Even though most people prefer full spectrum for treatment of those two conditions, more and more people are starting to use CBD isolate for anxiety and paranoia.

If you live in a country where THC is completely illegal or you have a job that requires drug tests, CBD crystal isolate could be a perfect fit for you. Otherwise, it is up to you to decide if you’d rather buy CBD Isolate or Full Spectrum products, but keep in mind, that full spectrum products are much more efficient.
